My personal tip which is often forgotten or ignored by others: calamity management. (like: I really should stick to poison instead of thinking fighting the boss head to head is a good idea). Usually the final battle gets me down by questionable decisions of mine. But so far I have not managed walking lunch + carved stone. When I switched from adventure mode to walking lunch I was very satisfied, since it definitely gave me new content, new events to see. Every new story campaign offers certain mechanics which seem even hard on adventure mode when you encounter them for the very first time. I personally suggest to get comfortable with the whole game first. Fast deployed stuff, crowd control, lots of walling and retreating tiles during my battles. I personally am a very careful player, moving rather slowly and relying on traps and poison. You will read very different opinions and tips, based on each player's preferred gameplay. Didn't think I would do -this- poorly.Īny Walking Lunch veterans have some tips? :) I should also mention that my first attempt at Walking Lunch was after doing the 5 Story chapters on Adventurer. cover doesn't seem to help enough, walling definitely doesn't help enough, and the heroes may as well be naked because whatever armor they have gets shredded before they get clonked by that 6 damage mob. I don't know if it is a matter of gear, skills or the actions I am choosing to take but I come from the X-COM Longwar school of thought - advance slowly, in cover, with massive overwatch. My biggest issue does seem to be with the battles themselves. The enemies are quite strong and my own units are taking a long time to level/get gear for. The calamities are piling up and I struggle on the battle map, usually losing someone every fight.
